Based in Long Melford near Sudbury, Suffolk
Based in historic Long Melford, nestled between Lavenham and Sudbury, for more than 100 years, our family business has been the cornerstone of support to families suffering bereavement.
In keeping with family tradition, today H & A W Palmer Ltd is owned and managed by Andy Palmer Randle who started helping his father in the business with his father when he was just 14 years old.
Harry Palmer Randle established the company in 1916. He was a local undertaker and carpenter. Harrys brother Albert returned from the war and joined his brother in the business..
Harry’s son Kenneth then joined the team, and when Harry sadly died, Albert and Kenneth were later joined by Alberts son Paul.
Years later following the death of Albert and Kenneth, Andy joined his father Paul, taking the helm when Paul sadly died in 2004.
It has always been very much a family business with Andy’s mother, sister and brother having pivotal roles over the years. The family take a lot of pride in being a truly independent funeral business serving the community at one of the most distressing and vulnerable times of their lives.
